The 12th Session of ASM accomplished this with extensive additions to the ASM Bylaws to establish certain committees and boards that are charged with selecting students to serve on the Board. This step has been completed.

In
order for ASM to initiate the Foundation, some procedure needed to be changed.
Many questions needed to be answered, including who was going to draft the
Foundation's first set of Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws, who would be on
the initial Board of Directors, who would pick who would be on the initial
Board...and so on.
